Oshawa GO

About The Project

Topographic survey of platform features and adjacent top of rail at Oshawa GO Station (end of the line).

Groma originally planned to scan the station from the platform using the terrestrial FARO scanner.  However, due to the frequency of train traffic and amount of time that trains remained stopped in the station, the survey was instead completed using conventional survey methods (total station tied into GPS control coordinates).

Top of rail was surveyed on both side of the platform and up to 50m west of the platform end.  All platform-level features were surveyed, including the bumper posts at the east end of the station.

The client received a survey points list and 2D/3D survey base plans.
